Economy
Одеська область за останні роки демонструє суттєвий економічний розвиток. Про це свідчить показник, який інтегрує у собі усі результати розвитку економіки регіону – показник валового регіонального продукту (ВРП). За цим показником область серед регіонів-лідерів. За останні 6 років порівняно з 2015 роком ВРП зріс більше ніж у два рази та у фактичних цінах становив 220,2 млрд грн., тобто середньорічний приріс склав 17,2%.

Споживчі витрати населення Одеського регіону говорить про те, що населення області витрачає більше грошей на купівлю товарів і послуг, що в свою чергу впливає на обсяги ВРП регіону. У 2015 році обсяг споживчих витрат склав 118,3 млрд грн, а вже в 2020 році їх величина збільшилася у понад 2 рази і склала 251,5 млрд грн. Середньорічний приріст витрат населення Одеської області склав 16,3%, що корелюється зі середньорічним приростом приростом ВРП регіону (17,2%).

Одеська область є регіоном, що активно займається зовнішньоекономічною діяльністю. Основними статтями експорту Одеського регіону були зернові культури (34%), насіння і плоди олійних рослин (22,7%), жири та олії тваринного або рослинного походження (21,4%). За 2020 рік обсяг експорту товарів до країн ЄС становив 344,8 млн дол. США, що становить 25,3% від загального обсягу експорту товарів області.

Investment activity
The Odesa region is one of the most promising regions of Ukraine, with high potential for the development of most branches of industry and a high level of labor training.
Cтаном на 31 грудня 2021 року загальний обсяг прямих іноземних інвестицій, унесених в економіку Одеської області з початку інвестування склав 1502,9 млн дол. США, що на 17,5 % або 223,6 млн дол. США більше порівняно з показником на 2019 рік. У структурі прямих іноземних інвестицій інструменти участі у капіталі склали 1131,1 млн дол. США.

The existing tourist and recreational potential and the developed network of protected areas allows to attract investment due to growing demand for various recreational and tourist activities in nature reserves, which is a key component for the establishment of tourism clusters and membership of tourism business in European interregional associations.

Labor market
Зайняте населення у віці 15-70 років – 979,6 тис. осіб
Середня заробітна плата за 2021 рік становила 12326 грн (зростання порівняно з 2020 – 19,3%). Відхилення від середньої заробітної плати в Україні за 2021 рік (14018 грн) складає 13,7%.
Among the priority areas of economic and social development of the region is the implementation of the State employment policy, the efficient use of labor, the elimination of unemployment among the working-age population.
In the Odesa region, specialists are trained annually for various industries and professions.
Динаміка зміни середньої заробітної плати Одеської області показує, що у 2021 році в порівнянні 2015 роком середня номінальна зарплата зросла більше, ніж у 3 рази. В середньому щомісячна зарплата штатних працівників Одеського регіону змінювалася щорічно на 1405 грн, або на 21,2%.

Динаміка зміни середньої реальної заробітної плати Одеської області з урахуванням зміни купівельної спроможності номінальної зарплати показує, що за період 2015-2021 рр. зарплата в регіоні збільшувалася в середньому на 1127 грн, тобто на 17% щорічно.

The scientific and technical system of the region consists of 49 scientific institutions and organizations that are engaged in scientific activities, perform research, development and are able to meet the needs of scientific, technical and innovative development of the region's economy.
The authorities of the Odesa region are systematically improving the conditions for doing business in the region and increasing its investment attractiveness, thus increasing the number of jobs created in the region.

Construction
Одеський регіон характеризується високими темпами розвитку будівельної галузі. Серед регіонів України у 2021 році Одеська область за обсягами будівельних робіт, виконаних власними силами, посіла 2 місце, за індексом будівельної продукції – 13 місце. Частка обсягу будівельних робіт Одеської області у загальному обсязі всіх робіт в Україні становить 13,8%. Щорічний середній приріст обсягу виконаних будівельних робіт в абсолютному вираженні становить 7313,4 млн грн, тобто 38,9% щорічно.

В загальному обсязі будівництва найбільшу частку займає будівництво інженерних споруд – 83,6%. У сфері будівництва будівель частка житлових будівель складає 57,1%, нежитлових – 42,9%.

За показником обсягу виконаних будівельних робіт у розрахунку на 1 особу за 2021 рік Одеський регіон посів друге місце і становить 14778 грн. Цей показник в Одеській області більший за середній показник у цілому по Україні в 2,4 рази. За 2021 рік обсяг освоєних капітальних інвестицій у будівництво по регіону склав 12,5 млрд грн, що в розрахунку питомого показника інвестиційного забезпечення населення на 1 особу складає 5286 грн.

За 12 місяців 2021 року вантажопереробка в морських портах Одеської області склала 107,18 млн тон, що становить 94,8% від показників 2020 року (частка 2021 в обсязі України 69,9%).
Вантажопереробка експортних вантажів в морських портах області склала 81,99 млн тон (94,7%), імпортних – 16,38 млн тон (102,7%). Перевалка транзитних вантажів склала 8,46 млн тон (85,6%). Каботаж – 350,8 тис. тон (56,8%). За 2021 рік морські порти Одеської області обробили 7 626 суден.

Незважаючи на військову агресію російської федерації проти України, держава продовжує свою діяльність, пов’язану з експортом продукції до інших країн. На цьому тлі значно покращили свої результати порти міст Ізмаїл і Рені. Вантажообіг Ізмаїльського морського торговельного порту в 2022 року в порівнянні з 2021 роком збільшився на 4,82 млн тон, тобто на 118%. За аналогічний період вантажообіг Ренійського морського торговельного порту збільшився практично у 5 разів – на 5,45 млн тон. Кількість прийнятих суден у цих двох портах Дунайського регіону склала 9569. Морський порт «Усть-Дунайськ» збільшив переробку вантажів у 12,2 рази: з 64,3 тис. тон у 2021 році до 785,75 тис. тон у 2022 році. Загалом, переробка вантажів у дунайських морських портах за 12 місяців 2022 року збільшилася до 16505,16 тис. тон, тобто у 3 рази, порівнюючи з 2021 роком.
Road transport
Через територію Одеської області проходять 5 міжнародних транспортних коридорів (автомобільний транспорт):
- The seventh and ninth Cretan
- TRACECA (Europe-Caucasus-Asia)
- “Baltic Sea - Black Sea”
- «Чорноморське транспортне кільце» – транспортний коридор навколо Чорного моря Організації Чорноморського Економічного Співробітництва (ОЧЕС).
У 2020 році порівняно з 2015 роком обсяг автомобільних вантажних перевезень збільшився на 7127 тис. тон. За цей період середньорічний приріс обсягу вантажних перевезень збільшувався щорічно в середньому на 1425 тон тобто на 5,7%.

Міжнародний аеропорт Одеса відноситься до групи найбільших аеропортів України і пов’язаний повітряними лініями з багатьма містами України, СНД, а також країнами Західної Європи, Азії, Африки.

Railways
Odesa Railway Regional Branch of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC is an important component of the single transport conveyor of southwestern Ukraine and is the most important part of the state railway transport.
It accounts for almost 20% of freight turnover,more than 16% of passenger traffic in the country.
The railway runs through six regions: Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia.
The main feature of the Odesa railway is its coastal and border position. Large sea and river ports are located in the region of the Odesa Railway. Thus, external transport and economic relations with more than 70 countries are provided.
Recreation and tourism
The Odesa region is a seaside and border Ukrainian region, located in the extreme southwest of the country. Ukraine's state borders with Romania and Moldova pass through the region.
The area of the Odesa region is 33.3 thousands of square kilometres,which is 5,5 % of the territory of Ukraine. The length of the sea coastline within the region exceeds 300 km and stretches from the sea to the north, inland by 200-250 km.The region occupies the territory of the North-Western Black Sea Coast from the mouth of the Danube to the Tiligulskyi estuary.
The northern part of the region is located in the forest-steppe zone, and the southern part is located in the steppe zone. The ordinary and southern chernozems prevail in the soil cover.
The Black Sea and the healing muds of the Kuyalnytskyi estuary create an exceptionally high recreational potential of the Odesa region. Unique natural complexes, wetlands and ecosystems form a high biosphere potential of the region, which is of national and international importance.
There are about 5.4 thousandartesian wells and 212 mine wellsin the Odesa region. Within the region there are 1134 small rivers and streams, 15 freshwater and sea estuaries, 68 reservoirs, 45 lakes.
The region has more than 2.5 million hectares of agricultural land, including more than 2 million hectares of arable land, more than 80 thousand hectares of vineyards and orchards.
The Odesa region has favorable natural and climatic conditions, resort and recreational resources. There are 321 sanatoriums and health resorts in the Odesa region as of 2019,which can accommodate more than 40,000 tourists. There are 317 children's health and recreation facilities, 208 accommodation establishments, 396 food establishments and 341 resort establishmentsthat can receive tourists. There are 46 tourist routes in the region.
